Overview

The objective of the Brighton International College Level 3 Diploma in Business Management qualification is to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of the operations and structure of businesses.

The qualification equips learners with the underpinning knowledge, understanding, and skills associated with business activities. It encourages research, investigation, and review of key aspects of business, including Business Communication, the Business Environment, People Management, Customer Service, Finance, and Marketing.

After completing the Brighton International College Level 3 Diploma in Business Management, a learner should be able to demonstrate and/or work with:

Knowledge and Understanding

  • An appreciation of the body of knowledge that constitutes the discipline of business.

  • A range of knowledge, facts, theories, ideas, principles, terminology, practices, and techniques related to business, its functions, and its context.

  • The ability to apply knowledge, skills, and understanding using basic and routine practices and techniques to address set situations and/or problems related to business management within organisations.

  • An understanding of how the field of business, business functions, industries, and sectors relate to a range of practical and/or commonplace applications.

Generic Skills

  • The ability to obtain, organise, and use factual, theoretical, and/or hypothetical information to draw conclusions and suggest solutions for business organisations.

  • The use of a wide range of skills, including ICT, basic analysis of numerical and graphical data, and effective written and oral communication.

  • The ability to take responsibility for carrying out a range of activities where the overall goal is clear, under non-directive supervision.

  • The ability to exercise some supervisory responsibility, work effectively in teams, evaluate the work of others, and make efficient use of limited resources.

 

Successful completion of this qualification supports learners in progressing to university and provides them with the essential skills and knowledge required to enter the world of work in their chosen sector.
